Mother’s Day...

Today is Mother’s Day and as usual I have made the two mothers cards from the same collection - it saves me having to kit up the threads twice - clever huh?

Here’s my mum’s...
and here is Dave’s mum’s...
Sorry for the crap photos

I was meant to be at work today but yesterday I woke up with the most horrendous stomach bug.  I dragged myself to work but was promptly sent home again and because I work with food I wasn’t allowed to go in today.  I wish I could say I’ve had a nice day, but I haven’t.

Mum’s Birthday...

Today is my mum’s birthday.  I’ve bought her some Baylis & Harding, a new apron and a scented candle.  Why are people so much harder to buy for the older they get?

Here is her card, which incidentally the Post Office has lost!

Happy Mother's Day...

Today is Mother's Day in the UK.  Having no children of my own I don't get to be spoilt and there are no flowers for me today but I do spoil my Mum and Mother-In-Law.
I made my Mum this card
and I bought her a cushion, some chocolates and made her this fob...

the fabric it's sitting on is the backing fabric.

Now, on to Dave's Mum's card...
Something nice, bright and simple I thought.

Just a quiet day at home today, roast chicken and cauliflower cheese and I think I might bake a lemon sponge.

Mum's Birhday...

Friday was my mum's 67th Birthday.  We bought her these gloves:
and I made her this card:-
It is really a Valentine's card but Mum loves penguins so it seemed suitable.  It is my sister's birthday next Tuesday so we decided to go to Coventry yesterday to deliver her present to her.  We went out for a lovely meal and it was a really great day.
Here's my mum, me and Michelle, my sister at the restaurant.  As you can see Michelle hates having her photo taken. Mum and me aren't that keen either but at least we managed to smile.
Michelle loved her present, we bought her a Banksy print.
Lunch was delicious.  We all had the best day.

Ooops!

I totally forgot to blog about the Mother's Day cards that I stitched. So here they are three weeks late! The first one is the one I did for Dave's Mum and the one below is the one I made for my mum and I wish I'd stitched the cage in a different colour now so it showed up more but ho-hum, never mind, it's done now. Nobody seemed to mind!

Mum's Birthday...

Today is my Mum's birthday. 66th to be precise. Don't worry, she won't read this as she doesn't have a computer, only just learnt to text, in fact. I bought her this... When she visited my house recently she was really interested in all the crochet I've been doing and said she would really like to have a go, when I saw the Cath Kidston kit I thought it ideal for her. I also made her one of my "famous" cupcake kits and this card...
Happy Birthday Mother!

Mum's Scarf...

I knitted these Can Can scarves for the girls for Christmas and when I showed my mum she was very jealous, so I made her one too.

Mother's Day Cards

I always stitch the mother's the same cards, not identical but from the same magazine charts as I only have to kit up once! These are the ones I made for them this year. Hope all you mothers had a lovely day on Sunday.

Mum's Birthday Socks...

Tuesday was my mum's 65th birthday and I made her these socks. She seemed pleased with them but then rolled off a list of reasons why she couldn't wear them here, there or wherever until she settled on them being bedsocks. Oh Hum.
Please excuse the state of my floor - we're decorating!

Mum's Birthday Card...

I made this little card for my Mum's birthday later this month. I'm also knitting her a pair of sock which I hope to finish in the next day or two.

Mum's Birthday Scarf

Decided that whenever possible I would make my presents - starting with my mum's birthday pressie. Spurred on by The Art Of Crochet which I think I have subscribed to ("think" because only Issue 1 has turned up as yet! ... don't get me started!) I made this little scarf out of wool from my stash, so as well as it being home-made it was also FREE - my favourite price!

Mum's Mother's Day Present...

Being a huge fan of the Togmeister I just had to stitch this for my Mum for Mother's Day. Dave says the eyes are a bit scary... I have to agree!
