Whilst on my holidays in Devon, I started to crochet a hat. First item of clothing I've ever attempted to crochet and while I don't think I shall ever wear it in public, I am absolutely thrilled with the result.

Dave's Mum's Christmas Present ...
Dave's mum is not very well. She is chair-bound and hardly moves so I came up with the idea of making her a lap blanket for her Christmas present.
His dad is very active, always up and down and looking after everything and sometimes their flat feels a little chilly if you are just sat there so I thought this would keep her nice and cosy in the colder months. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, especially the snowflakes as they are the first time I've tried anything that fancy.
Hope she likes it!

New Slippers...
When the bow dropped off my cheapo Asda slippers...
I had an idea...
TaaaDaaaa!!! I'm so chuffed with these. They look like something someone else would make!
Talking of crochet, remember the dreaded crochet throw I'm battling with, the Art Of Crochet part work thingy. Well, it occurred to me the other day why I'm struggling with it - I don't like it! I really don't, especially the horrible embroidery they suggest on some of the squares. So, I decided to replace the embroidery with flowers, sewed a little Mother Of Pearl button in the centre and now... I LIKE IT! It's much more "me" now. Strange, isn't it, I'm also finding the crochet easier to do.

Crochet Throw...
I subscribed to "The Art Of Crochet" when it first came out at the beginning of this year. I am very behind on my squares for my throw but here are the ones I have completed so far. Sorry, they aren't very neat as I haven't blocked them yet.
No. 1
No. 3
No. 6
I don't find crochet as naturally easy to do like I do knitting but it is something I've always wanted to be good at.
