Jayden's Birthday...

Yesterday was my step-grandson's 5th birthday.  We put some money towards a climbing frame for him and bought him a Olympic sports kit, he's got too many toys so we thought it a good idea to buy him something topical.  Of course I made him a card, I wonder whether people get bored of my stitched cards?  I loved making this card, Jay is mad on spaceships, everything is a spaceship.  I wrapped his present in spaceship paper and even made the envelope for his card from the same paper.

I will leave you with a stunning photo from our garden of our hollyhocks.

Our garden - a work in progress...

We've been in this house for nearly a year now and last year was spent doing the living room up so Dave has begun transforming the garden in earnest this spring. He's started with this little seating area in the sunniest spot of the garden. Isn't it cute? And I know I'm getting a little obsessed but my first thought was "this will be a nice photo spot for the wedding reception".

He's building this little wall from cobbles taken from the front garden (so that's looking a bit of a mess at the mo). Isn't it cute! It's a tiny garden but he's managed to make it really interesting with little secret places to find. What am I doing while he's being so industrious?

Knitting socks, of course.

Herb Buckets...

Found these gorgeous little red metal buckets at Asda, on sale at just £1 for all three. Bunged some supermarket herbs in and hung them on the fence! Not too shabby I think!
