Our tree ...

We put our Christmas tree up the weekend before last. This year, as it was all down to me and I didn't have to share the putting-up with Leia, I decided to go for a bit of a change. It's pink, turquoise and gold, not too "themed" but I think it's very pretty.

Snow!! Better late than never!

Now all the snow has nearly gone I thought I would post my photo's of it. I really hope it comes back, I love it! No "snow days" for me though, I trudged to work every day, we were even threatened with a disciplinary if we were late!

Looks comfy, doesn't it?

Just had to share my pretty new glasses with you. I spotted them in Tesco (where else?!) and they were only £2 each! ... and buy two get one free! Bargain! All different colours but I chose pink and green as they seem to be the only colours I buy anything for my kitchen in at the moment. Now, where's the wine...

My VERY pink kitchen...

I'm not one of the beige, mocha, hint of buff, magnolia, hint of cream brigade that everyone seems to be these days. Everyone's house looks the SAME! I've nothing against it per say, but everyone seems to be frightened of colour. The only colour anyone has in their houses seems to be the ubiquitous brown leather sofa (I do have one of these but MY lounge is going to be BLUE, with big blue Laura Ashley flowers on the feature wall!!) So, when I saw a kitchen in a magazine with beautiful pink walls I just had to have it. We bought the paint specified, a lovely soft raspberry and Dave got to work. It looked NOTHING like the picture in the magazine, the pink was much more, well, pink and he nearly gave up after one wall because he thought it looked horrendous. But, after bravely carrying on, we absolutely love the result. Your home should be the place where you have things you like not where you do what fashion tells you to do. My name is Julie and I LOVE COLOUR!!

Herb Buckets...

Found these gorgeous little red metal buckets at Asda, on sale at just £1 for all three. Bunged some supermarket herbs in and hung them on the fence! Not too shabby I think!

The Best Things About Moving House ....

Brand new, pristine towels - before the mascara and hair dye get to them. Something I've always wanted - a pantry! I sometimes just come in here for a look round!
Flowers we didn't know we had making their debut this week.
My very own pocket handkerchief sized buttercup meadow. No Dave ... they are NOT weeds!
And best of all ... lots and lots of bare walls to cover with new cross stitching!!!
