Last But Not Least...

This is the last Christmas card I stitched and was for my friend Em, who definitely deserves a stitched card.  She bought me a stunning lamp for Christmas, one of those with a pretend flame made out of fabric.  All I got her was a Laura Ashley mug.  Guilty!

Also here is a update of my Long Winter’s Nap socking.

The first page is nearly finished and I’ve had a ball doing it.  There is a lot of boring beard to do on the next page down but I loved that the first page had his face on it.

Been feeling a bit down lately.  I think my depression is rearing its ugly head again.  All I want to do is stay at home and hide, so I bought myself some beautiful tulips to try and cheer myself up a bit.  I’ve had two days off work and I’m due back tomorrow and I’m absolutely dreading it.  No particular reason, I just don’t want to go out.  I told my husband on Monday night that I felt content and he was really pleased to hear that, but it was only because I knew that I could hide away for the next two days at home.

Marj’s Christmas Card...

OK, still posting Christmas cards. Oh well.  This one was for my friend Marj.  I always try to find something a little different for her and this one is very Nordic-y I thought and as she is a very traditional person I thought it would be very unusual for her.

Dave’s Mum & Dad’s Christmas Card...

This is the card I stitched for Dave’s Mum & Dad for Christmas.  Same range as my parent’s card.  I only stitched three cards last year. Normally everyone gets one but I just didn’t feel like it.

I have started a new project.  A Long Winter’s Nap Stocking from Heaven & Earth Designs.  This is my progress so far after two weeks.

I’m loving it.  I’m just going to complete one page and then put it away so I don’t get bored.  

Also, look what I found in my local Home Bargains.  I presume it’s a child’s lunch box but I’m using it to store my threads in.

Very Cath-esque I thought, and only £1.29!!!

Mum & Dad’s Christmas card...

This is the card that I stitched for my Mum and Dad this Christmas.

Tree’s Up!!!

I put our Christmas tree up on Sunday.  Red and white Scandi-style is the theme this year as you can see.

Christmas Card No. 13...

Yep.  Still posting about my Christmas cards.  Tragic, I know.  This little one was for my step-grand-daughter, Lilly.

Also thought I would do an update on what I'm working on at the moment.  "Urban Moments" by Maia.

I love working on this one.  As you can see it's a New York scene, I'm a little addicted to New York scenes.  This is my second Maia in the same range.

Christmas Card No. 12...

Don't worry, nearly there.  This one was for my step-grandson, Jayden.  I made all the grandkids the same card but different - if you get what I mean.

This one is the only one I stitched for any of my friends at work.  Me and Em are very close, we love each other very much even though she's a grumpy old cow !

Christmas Card No. 10...

Dave has an old childhood friend, Andy who emigrated to Australia many years ago.  In fact Andy was best man at Dave's first wedding.  We met up for a meal with them some months ago when they were over for a visit and Dave wanted me to stitch them a Christmas card this year.

I chose something quick and easy as it was getting close to the final posting date.  Hope they liked it, we haven't heard if they even received it yet.

This one was for Dave's Mum & Dad.  I always try to do a traditional style card for them as I don't think his Dad "gets" the more modern style.

This one is for my friend Marj who also stitches - not as much as me granted - but she does do me a Christmas card and a birthday card every year.

Another 1 over 1 project, Marj says she doesn't know how I can see to do it.  Magnifier, Marj, magnifier.

Love the bunting on this one.  The ribbon was a find on Ebay, I love it, it's going on everything.

Yep, still on the Christmas cards.  This one was for Leia, my step-daughter and Adam.  Another not-so-traditional design

This card was made for my sister Michelle and her partner Lee.  I love how it is so different, not overly Christmassy, you know what I mean?  I won't show you the one she gave me !

Christmas Card No. 4...

This one is for my step-grandson, Jack Jack.  These cards were a free gift from a magazine (I forget which one) and I added the ribbon and jingle bell.

Eggnog Ornament...

I made myself this little ornament.  The chart was a freebie from here.  I am pleased with the stitching but not the finishing - I think I need a little more practice at finishing.

This one is for my sister-in-law Jill and her partner Tony.  It was a cover kit from The World Of Cross Stitching I think.

Day off work today, I'm going to finish of the Christmas wrapping and catch up on the ironing - such fun.

Marj's Christmas Present...

Flippin' 'eck it's cold here.  Our little house normally heats up in about 30 minutes when you switch the heating on but the last couple of days it has taken about an hour and a half !  Here is a little key fob I stitched for my Blackpool friend, Marj.  I wanted to make her something to go with her bought Christmas present, the chart was a freebie from here.

I'm quite addicted to making these little things.

Mum & Dad's Christmas Card...

Now, my mum has a major problem with penguins - she loves them.  All her Christmas cards have penguins on them so when I spotted this beauty in the Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments magazine I just had to stitch it for her.  It was stitched one over one and I am thrilled with the result.
